Our next great adventure is officially on the horizon: Patagonia and Antarctica—a journey to the far edges of the map and, no doubt, deep into the soul. It is a trip I thought wouldn’t happen – at least now but my oncologist said go so we are!
We fly direct overnight from DFW on American Airlines to Buenos Aires, arriving early and wide-eyed in one of the world’s great capital cities. And we’re super excited to meet up with our great friends and fellow world travelers Adrienne Publicover and Kyle Jennings! We’ll spend a full day soaking it in with a guided architectural tour, followed by dinner at a renowned Argentine steakhouse—because if you’re in Buenos Aires, that’s not optional. We’re staying along the revitalized docks area at the Hilton, perfectly placed to watch the city glow as night falls.
Early the next morning, the journey turns truly remote. A chartered flight carries us to Ushuaia, the southernmost city in the world—where the Andes meet the sea and the road quite literally ends. We’ll explore this rugged frontier town before boarding the Viking Expedition Ship Polaris, our home as we venture south into the Southern Ocean.
Why Antarctica? Because it is our seventh—and final—continent. Because every explorer who has gone before us speaks of its overwhelming beauty and humbling scale. Because it remains one of the last true wildernesses on Earth—raw, silent, pristine, and unchanged by human hands. This isn’t just a destination; it’s a once-in-a-lifetime pilgrimage to the bottom of the world.
As always, we’ll be sharing stories, reflections, and photographs along the way. This one feels big. Monumental. A full-circle moment in a life shaped by curiosity, movement, and wonder. And more than ever this was needed at this time in my life.
Stay close—we’re headed south. ❄️🧭
