Debbie and I just completed a dream journey through the Maghreb region of North Africa. The Magreb, which encompasses Morocco, Algeria, Tunisia, Mauritania, and Libya, is a land where history, culture, mystery and nature converge in a symphony of experiences. We explored Tunesia, Algiers and Morocco in that order. We found the Maghreb to be a mosaic of cultures and landscapes, which offered us a chance to delve into history, embrace adventure, and find tranquility. In short, whether we wandered through ancient ruins as we love to do or sipping mint tea in a cafe or souk, the Maghreb left an indelible mark on our souls such that we hope to return. We will dive into each country in separate posts to focus on the treasures of each one but for me personally it was a dream come true to explore all three back to back.
