As the year draws to a close, we find ourselves reflecting on an incredible journey filled with new discoveries, breathtaking landscapes, and countless moments of awe. Our travels have taken us to some of the most remarkable places on Earth, each leaving its unique mark on our hearts. In total we visted 21 countries, 5 national and Native American parks and countless domestic cities. New countries included India, Sri Lanka, Singapore, Malaysia, Andorra, Corsica, Malta, Zimbabwe, Zambia, the ABC Islands, Tunesia, Algeria, Morocco and South Africa. Here’s a personal recap of our adventures this year, chronicling the memories we created together as we traveled FARTHER Together.
The Wonders of Asia
We began our journey in Singapore, where the futuristic skyline of Marina Bay Sands met the timeless beauty of the Supertree Grove and the bustling hawker centers. From there, we explored Penang, Malaysia, where the charming streets of George Town greeted us with vibrant street art and delicious cuisine. Then came Sri Lanka, where we immersed ourselves in the lush landscapes of tea plantations, the cultural heart of Colombo, and the amazing wildlife of Yala National Park.
Then 3 glorious weeks in India, an overwhelming feast for the senses. Standing before the Taj Mahal, we were humbled by its sheer beauty and the love story behind it—a moment of quiet reflection in the midst of India’s vibrant energy.
A Celestial Event in Texas
In April, we were fortunate to witness one of nature’s most awe-inspiring phenomena—a solar eclipse. Back home in Dallas, we gathered with friends and neighbors to watch as the moon passed in front of the sun, casting an ethereal twilight over the city. The moment was a powerful reminder of how small we are in the grand cosmic dance and how moments of shared wonder bring us closer together.
Caribbean Bliss
In June, we basked in the turquoise waters and laid-back charm of the ABC Islands—Aruba, Bonaire, and Curacao. These Caribbean gems gifted us serene beaches, colorful Dutch-inspired towns, and a slower pace that gave us time to recharge and savor the beauty of island life before resuming our whirlwind adventures.
Into the Wilds of Africa
Our African safaris were nothing short of life-changing. From Zimbabwe, where we marveled at Victoria Falls, to Zambia, where intimate game drives brought us face-to-face with lions and leopards, every moment felt surreal. In South Africa, we traversed Kruger National Park before immersing ourselves in the beauty of Cape Town, from Table Mountain to the colorful Bo-Kaap neighborhood.
Mediterranean Marvels
The Mediterranean provided us with a tapestry of ancient history and stunning coastal views. We explored Malta’s prehistoric temples and crystal-clear Blue Lagoon before heading to Tunis and Carthage, where the ruins whispered tales of ancient empires. In Algiers and Tipaza, we felt the unique blend of French and Arab influences, a cultural crossroads unlike any other. Finally, Casablanca dazzled us with the magnificent Hassan II Mosque, where intricate design met spiritual grandeur. We celebrated the end of our exploration of the Magreb at the iconic Rick’s Cafe.
National Parks: The Soul of America
Back on home soil, we embarked on trips to some of the USA’s most iconic national parks. Glacier National Park left us in awe with its towering peaks and shimmering lakes. Arches and Canyonlands amazed us with their otherworldly landscapes, while Monument Valley offered timeless desert vistas. The vibrant, blooming beauty of Antelope Valley was the perfect contrast to the rugged Southwest terrain.
Reflections and Gratitude
Traveling together has always been about more than ticking destinations off a list. It’s about the connections we make—with each other, with people we meet along the way, and with the world itself. This year has been a reminder of how vast and varied our planet is, but also how shared experiences bring us closer.
