Life Is Just Better with Mystical Awareness

Most of us live as if reality is what we can see, touch, and measure. We move through our days bound by logic, reason, and the weight of the material world. But what if there’s more? What if life becomes richer, fuller, and more joyful when we open ourselves to mystical awareness?

People ask me all the time what do you believe in? Spirituality I am a mystic drawn to the religions and philosophies of the East. I’ve come to this awareness out of a life-long search for truth. My first book Showing UP described this journey in detail.

Mystical awareness is not about escaping reality—it’s about seeing reality more deeply. It’s about recognizing the hidden connections, the sacred patterns, and the whispers of meaning that pulse beneath the surface of everyday life. It’s the awareness that life is not just a series of random events but a vast, interconnected unfolding.

Think of moments when time slows down—when you stand before a breathtaking sunset, feel a deep connection with another person, or experience an unshakable sense that everything is exactly as it should be. These are glimpses of mystical awareness. They remind us that life is not just about survival or success but about wonder, awe, and meaning.

Mystical awareness brings happiness because it dissolves the illusion of separation. It reminds us that we are part of something greater than ourselves. When we embrace this awareness, our fears shrink, our sense of purpose expands, and we begin to trust the flow of life. Challenges become initiations, setbacks become lessons, and even pain carries wisdom.

From the Sufi poets to the Taoist sages, from the mystics of the East to the transcendentalists of the West, those who have touched this awareness all share a common truth: happiness is not found in control, but in surrender; not in grasping, but in seeing.

When we open our eyes to the mystical, life becomes not just something we endure—but something we celebrate.
