Ok, admittedly we indulged ourselves here. Some places don’t just offer a stay; they transport you to another era. Our visit to Taj Prakash Palace in Udaipur was one of those magical experiences—an immersion into Rajasthan’s royal heritage, where time slows, and every corner whispers tales of the past.
Nestled on the serene shores of Lake Pichola, this exquisite palace-turned-hotel seamlessly blends Mewar grandeur with Taj’s signature hospitality. From the moment we arrived, the sight of its ornate domes reflected in the water set the stage for a stay that was nothing short of mesmerizing.
Living Like Royalty
Stepping inside, we were welcomed with a traditional Rajasthani greeting, complete with rose petals and the soft sounds of a shehnai. The interiors were an artful blend of intricate frescoes, hand-carved jharokhas, and shimmering chandeliers, evoking the splendor of Udaipur’s regal past.
Our lake-view suite was a masterpiece—high ceilings, rich silk upholstery, and bed made us feel as though we had stepped into a maharaja’s private quarters. Each sunrise over Lake Pichola painted a new masterpiece across the water, and each sunset was a golden spectacle.
