Just last week, we embarked on a breathtaking hike to the Khamsum Namgyal Chorten, a magnificent hilltop temple overlooking the Punakha Valley. The trail wound through lush rice terraces, dense pine forests, and quiet rural paths, offering us a glimpse into Bhutan’s serene beauty.
At the top, the chorten stood in perfect harmony with the landscape, its golden spire gleaming under the morning sun. Inside, intricate murals depicted Buddhist teachings, a reminder of Bhutan’s deep spiritual traditions. From the rooftop, we soaked in panoramic views of the valley and the meandering Mo Chhu River below—a moment of pure peace and perspective.
