Why I Admired Pope Francis

Although I am not Catholic, I’ve always admired Pope Francis—especially for his humility and his deep concern for the plight of immigrants. He saw what many choose to ignore: that people don’t leave their homes lightly. They’re often fleeing violence, poverty, gangs, and drug wars—making an unthinkably hard choice in hopes of a better life.

Pope Francis didn’t just speak about compassion—he embodied it. In a world so quick to judge and divide, he reminded us of our shared humanity. For that, I hold great respect.
