Protect Your Goat

We all have one — a goat, that is. I’m not referring to a real one munching on grass in the backyard, but the metaphorical kind. The goat that people try to “get” when they cut you off in traffic, send a passive-aggressive email, or post something irritating online.

But here’s the truth: your peace of mind, your inner calm, your sense of self — that’s your goat. And it’s yours to protect.

Don’t hand it over so easily. Don’t let the little stuff — or even the medium-sized annoyances — steal your joy or shift your values. Living a moral, meaningful life means choosing how you respond. It means knowing when to let it go, when to laugh it off, and when to just breathe.

Protect your goat. The world is noisy enough without letting every little thing rattle your spirit. Rise above. Stay grounded. Smile more. And remember: nothing is worth your peace.
