Today was one of those days where nature reminds you that time—not urgency—is the true artist.
We set out into the Dades Valley for a hike among the legendary “Monkey Fingers,” a series of surreal rock formations that look exactly as their name suggests—long, slender, finger-like ridges reaching skyward, as if frozen mid-gesture. Fortunately we had a great guide Abdel who helped us navigate them. These formations were sculpted over millions of years through a combination of tectonic uplift, volcanic activity, and relentless erosion. Softer rock layers were gradually worn away by wind and water, leaving behind these hardened, vertical spires. The result is a landscape that feels almost otherworldly—part sculpture garden, part ancient cathedral.
Walking among them is a humbling experience. You feel small, but in the best possible way—connected to something vast, timeless, and quietly powerful.
From there, we drove to the heights of the Dades Gorge, where the famous serpentine road winds its way through the mountains like a ribbon tossed across the earth. It’s one of the most visually stunning drives in Morocco—a series of tight switchbacks carved into the canyon walls, each turn revealing a new perspective more breathtaking than the last. We paused at the top for sweet mint tea, soaking in the view and the stillness. Moments like that don’t ask for anything except presence.
We returned to the spectacular Eden Boutique Hotel just as the light softened across the valley. What followed was an incredible dinner—beautifully prepared Moroccan cuisine, warm hospitality, and the kind of atmosphere that invites reflection. After a day shaped by the forces of nature, it felt like the perfect place to land.
Morocco continues to reveal itself not just in sights, but in sensations—textures, flavors, stories written in stone and silence.
Another unforgettable day in a string of unforgettable days.
